Flory Elementary School Literacy Night!
Every Spring, the dedicated staff at schools across Ventura County put together their own "Literacy Nights" that promote kids to explore reading all kinds of books; the kids rotate to different classrooms that feature author presentations and stories being read aloud by volunteer readers. On March 7, I got to be one of the readers at the Literacy Night being held at Flory Elementary School in my hometown of Moorpark! The kids loved it, and I had the privilege of sharing some of my favorite books from my childhood, including "King Bidgood's in the Bathtub," "Chrysanthemum," and "The Napping House"!!
